The main purpose of this article is to study complete, connected helical submanifolds in a Euclidean m-space \(E^ m\). Among others, the author obtains the following results. Theorem 1. If M is compact, M is a Blaschke manifold, and if M is noncompact, every point of M is a pole. Theorem 2. If M is of odd order, then M is totally geodesic. Theorem 3. If M is of even order, M is compact. Theorem 4. If dim M is 2 or odd, then M is isometric to a sphere or a real projective space and the immersion is given by the diagonal one. The last result generalizes a result of the reviewer and \textit{P. Verheyen} [Math. Ann. 269, 417-429 (1984; Zbl 0536.53053)].
