In many cases, the categorical machinery is advantageous compared to algebras. Among of them, the people usually apply monoidal categories to understand quasi-Hopf algebras. Actually, the computation of quasi-Hopf algebras becomes quite complicated which make the people lose their ways sometimes. The paper under review again supports this opinion: the authors apply the monoidal categorical machinery to give a suitable definition of cyclic cohomology for a quasi-Hopf algebra, which we don't know how to define before. At the same time, the authors also obtain the definition of cyclic cohomology for a Hopf algebroid. The author's work also tells us that the biclosed monoidal categories should be important.
