The following Euclidean Ramsey result is proved. For any \(d\)-dimensional simplex with circumradius \(\rho\) and any \(\delta>0\) there exists \(s=s(\delta,X)>1\) such that for every \(n\geq d\) and every \(r\)-colouring of the \(n\)-dimensional sphere of radius \(\rho+\delta\), where \(r\leq s^n\), there exists a monochromatic subset of the sphere congruent to \(X\). In fact a stronger technical Ramsey property of simplices is proved. The intricate proof builds on various results in Euclidean Ramsey theory, many of them due to the authors.
