Existence and uniqueness of entropy solution of the following Cauchy problem in \(Q_T=(0,T)\times \mathbb R^N:\) \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}= \text{div}(a(u,Du)) \] \[ u(0,x)=u_0(x), \quad x \in{\mathbb R^N}, \] where \(a(z,\xi)=\nabla_\xi f(z,\xi),\) and \(f\) is a convex function of \(\xi\) with linear growth as \(\| \xi\| \to +\infty, \;\;0 \leq u_0 \in L'(\mathbb R^N) \cap L^\infty(\mathbb R^N)\) is studied. Under some assumptions on \(a(z,\xi),\) and for an initial data \(u_0\) from above mentioned class it is proved a unique entropy solution in \(Q_T\) for every \(T>0\) such that \(u(0)=u_0.\) Moreover, if \(u(t),\) \(\bar{u}(t)\) are the entropy solutions corresponding to initial data \(u_0,\;\bar{u}_0 \in (L^\infty(\mathbb R^N) \cap L'(\mathbb R^N))^{+},\) respectively, then \[ \| (u(t)-\bar{u}(t)^{+})\| _1 \leq \| (u_0-\bar{u}_0)\| _1 \quad\text{for all } t>0. \] The main purpose of the paper is to prove that \(u(t):= \lim_{n\to\infty} (I+\frac{t}{n} B)^{-n}u_0,\) \(u_0 \in (L'(\mathbb R^N) \cap L^\infty(\mathbb R^N))^{+},\) where \(B\) is an accretive operator in \(L'(\mathbb R^N);\) \(u(t)\) is an entropy solution of the considered problem.
