A finite group \(G\) is called real if the values of every complex character of \(G\) are real numbers. It is called an M-group if every irreducible complex character of \(G\) is monomial, i.e.\ induced from a linear character of a subgroup of \(G\). It is known, by a result of Dade, that every solvable finite group \(G\) can be embedded in an M-group \(H\). In the paper under review, the authors show that \(H\) can be chosen to be real.
