Main result: There exists a subset \({\mathcal F}\) of C([0,1]), such that C([0,1])\(\setminus {\mathcal F}\) is of first category and any \(f\in {\mathcal F}\) has the following property: For all g: \(I\to {\mathbb{R}}\) measurable and each \(n\in {\mathbb{N}}\), there exists a sequence \((h_ j)\) of positive numbers converging to zero, and depending only on g and n, satisfying \(\lim_{j\to \infty}F_ n(x,h_ j)/h^ n_ j=g(x)\) for \(\lambda\)- almost all \(x\in I\) (\(\lambda\) Lebesgue measure), where \(F_ n(x,h)\) is defined inductively by \[ F_ n(x,h)=2^{n-2}F_{n-2}(x,h)-F_{n- 2}(x,2h),\quad n\geq 3, \] \[ F_ 2(x,h)=f(x+h)+f(x-h)-2f(x),\quad F_ 1(x,h)=f(x+h)-f(x-h). \]
