This quite interesting paper considers direct products of finite cyclic groups and their usability in a finite (lattice) quantum mechanics. Coherent states, Fourier transformation, position- and momentum representations are constructed. It is explicitely shown that this constructions lead to quantum deformations with non-generic \(q\) \((q\) a root of unity either in the complex domain or as an element of a Galois extension). After providing some examples, a large part of the work discusses the relation of the present work to work done in literature. The list of references is exquisite but not complete, which is not surprising considering the vast amount of such work.
