Nonregular triangulations of products of simplices (Q1913597): Difference between revisions

Regular and nonregular triangulations of convex polytopes were studied recently in several papers (compare \textit{C. W. Lee} in [Ser. Discret. Math. Theor. Comput. Sci. 4, 443--456 (1991; Zbl 0746.52015)]). The regular triangulations lead to the so-called secondary polytope. In this paper nonregular triangulations are found for the product of two simplices \(\Delta_r \times \Delta_s\) for any \(r,s \geq 3\). In the case \(r = s = 3\) this can be extended to a nonregular triangulation of the 6-dimensional cube. The 4-dimensional cube is the smallest cube which admits a nonregular triangulation.
