The authors present a very useful study of the derivation of symmetry reductions and exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations by applying a number of methods such as the classical Lie method of infinitesimal transformations, the Clarkson-Kruskal direct method, and the nonclassical Bluman-Cole method. The interaction among these methods is also investigated. The paper concludes with 82 references.
