The paper deals with the dynamic von Kármán system \[ \begin{aligned} u_{tt}+B(u_t)+\triangle^2u=[v(u)+F_0,u]+p, \;\triangle^ 2v(u)=-[u,u]\text{ in}\;\Omega \times (0,\infty),\cr [u,v]=u_{xx}v_{yy}+u_{yy}v_{xx}-2u_{xy}v_{xy},\cr v(u)=\frac{\partial}{\partial \nu}v(u)=0\;\text{\;on}\;\Gamma, \;u=\frac{\partial}{\partial \nu}u=0\;\text{\;on}\;\Gamma_0,\cr \triangle u+(1-\mu)B_1u=0,\text{\;on}\;\Gamma_1,\cr \frac {\partial}{\partial \nu}\triangle u+(1-\mu)B_2u-\mu_1u-\beta u^3=d(x,y)g(u_t), \text{\;on}\;\Gamma_2,\end{aligned} \] where \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^2\) is a bounded domain with a sufficiently smooth boundary \(\Gamma\) consisting of two disjoint parts \(\Gamma_1,\;\Gamma_2\). The internal damping has the form \(\;B(u_t)=d_0(x,y)b(u_t)\) and boundary operators are \[ B_1u=2\nu_1\nu_2u_{xy}-\nu_1^2y_{yy}-\nu_2^2y_{xx},\;B_2u=\frac \partial{\partial \tau}[(nu_1^2-\nu_2^2)u_{xy}+\nu_1\nu_2(u_{yy}-u_{xx})]. \] Two distinctive damping mechanisms are considered: internal dissipation generated by non-linear operator and boundary dissipation generated by shear forces friction acting on a free part of the boundary. The main emphasis is given to the effects of boundary dissipation. The existence of a compact global attractor and finiteness of its fractal dimension is proved. Every solution is stabilized to an equilibrium. The rate of the convergence is analyzed.
