In a preceding paper [Approximative shape I, Tsukuba J. Math. 11, 17-59 (1987; Zbl 0646.55006)], the author defined the approximative shape category ASh whose construction was based on resolutions of spaces in the category of approximative inverse systems. The present paper introduces various notions of movability for approximative inverse systems and for spaces, e.g. approximative movability, uniform approximative movability, or internal approximative movability. For spaces, all these movability properties are invariants in ASh. Furthermore, they are adequate to characterize certain classes of generalized ANRs: For example, let PM denote the class of paracompact M-spaces, and let \(X\in PM\). Then X is uniformly approximatively movable iff X is internally approximatively movable iff X is an approximative ANR in the sense of Clapp for PM. Finally, it is shown that each of the above movability properties implies the corresponding movability property in the ``ordinary'' shape theoretic sense; the converse holds for compact connected abelian topological groups (but fails in the general case).
