    Let \(f\) be meromorphic and \(g\) entire. The authors compare the growth of the Nevanlinna characteristic and maximum modulus of \(f\circ g\) with that of \(f\) and \(g\) under various assumptions on the orders \(\rho_f\), \(\rho_g\) and lower orders \(\lambda_f\), \(\lambda_g\). Here we only quote one typical result (Theorem 4): If \(0< \mu< \rho_g< \infty\) and \(0< \lambda_f\), then \(\limsup_{r\to \infty} \log T(r, f\circ g)/ \log T (\exp (r^\mu), g)= \infty\).
