Let y(t) be an \(n\times 1\)-vector with components \(y_ i(t)\), c a constant \(n\times 1\)-vector and \(L_ j\) an \(n\times n\)-matrix for \(j=1,2,...,N\). Given c, \(L_ j\) and functions f(i), \(i=1,2,...,n\), the system of difference equations \(y_ i(t+1)=f_ i(t,y(t))\) for \(t=0,1,2,..\). is considered subject to the boundary conditions \(\sum^{N}_{j=1}L_ jy(t_ j)=c\). Starting with the special case of linear systems several results for the existence and uniqueness of solutions are derived which are constructive in nearly all cases. The proofs are essentially based on methods of linear algebra and linear functional analysis, resp. and provide possibilities for approximate computations.
