The paper contains a slight improvement on a previous result of the authors, already published in several papers such as [the first author et al., Proc. Steklov Inst. Math. 292, 63--93 (2016; Zbl 1356.16013)], for example: given a finite-dimensional central division algebra \(D\) over a field \(K\) finitely generated over its prime field, then the genus of \(D\) is finite. Here the genus is defined as the number of Brauer classes of central division algebras over \(K\) having the same maximal subfields as \(D\). In previous papers the result was proven under the restriction that the degree of \(D\) is prime to the characteristic; that restriction is removed here. As in previous papers, the main finiteness result is reduced to the finiteness of a certain unramified Brauer group. Here some further investigations are added concerning an unramified \(H^3\).
