The authors go beyond the linear stability analysis of B. Sandstede and A. Scheel (they dealt with a new bifurcation scenario for travelling pulses in reaction-diffusion systems on the real line). The authors show, at least on a specific example, that modulated fronts are nonlinearly stable with respect to spatially localized perturbations, which in turn implies that information can be transported in a stable manner even if the propagation medium becomes unstable through a Turing bifurcation. They provide their analysis by numerical simulations.
