The realization of ``algebraic'' Lie algebras as differential operators has the property, given by Gelfand and Kirillov, that equivalence classes of ring of quotients of universal enveloping algebras are parametrized by pairs of positive integers. The authors show that a Feigin's morphism provides an isomorphism between the ring of quotients of \(U^-_q ({\mathfrak s \mathfrak l}_{n + 1})\) and that of a ring of skew polynomials. This allows them to generalize the Gelfand-Kirillov conjecture which they prove for \(N = 1,2\). They also carry out explicit calculations of singular vectors in Verma modules over quantum groups. Finally, they give a definition of a \(q\)-connection with coefficients in a ring of skew polynomials and identify it with certain cohomology groups.
