The classical term-by-term integration method for obtaining asymptotic expansions of integrals is reconsidered with weaker conditions than given in the exisiting literature. It is explained that Watson's lemma and the integration by parts method applied to Laplace and a family of Fourier transforms are corollaries of the presented method.
