The paper deals with two families of quantum projective spaces over an algebraically closed field \(k\) of characteristic zero which have global dimension 4. These families were introduced by \textit{D. R. Stephenson} and \textit{M. Vancliff} [J. Algebra 297, No. 1, 208-215 (2006; Zbl 1101.16021)] in the following way. Let \(R=\langle x,y,z\mid xy+yx-2z^2=[x,z]=[y,z]=0\rangle\). Then \(R\) admits an automorphism \(\sigma\) such that \(\sigma(x)=-x\), \(\sigma(y)=-y\), \(\sigma(z)=z\) and some special \(\sigma\)-derivation \(\delta\) depending on parameters from \(k\). The first algebra is a skew polynomial extension \(S=R[w;\sigma,\delta]\). Another algebra \(R'=\langle x,y,z\mid xy+yx=[x,z]=[y,z]=0\rangle\) admits an automorphism \(\sigma'\) which acts on \(x,y,z\) as \(\sigma\) and a special \(\sigma'\)-derivation \(\delta'\) also depending of three parameters from \(k\). Then \(S'=R'[w;\sigma',\delta']\) is another family of algebras. The aim of the paper is to classify finite dimensional simple modules over \(R\) and over \(R'\). The main result of the paper says that if parameters are generic then each simple module over \(R\) or over \(R'\) of odd dimension is the unique simple quotient of the induced module \(F(\lambda,\mu,\zeta)\otimes_RS\) (\(F(\lambda,\mu,\zeta)\otimes_{R'}S'\), respectively), where \(F(\lambda,\mu,\zeta)\) is the one-dimensional module over \(S\) or \(S'\) in which \(x,y,z\) act via their eigenvalues \(\lambda,\mu,\zeta\). It is shown that the triples \((\lambda,\mu,\zeta)\) run over an algebra variety defined explicitly. For generic parameters the algebras \(S\) and \(S'\) admit a one-dimensional family of fat point modules of multiplicity 2. The family is closed under the shift operator \(s\) which has infinite order on the family.
