Let \(K_ 1(0)\) be the unit circle with centre 0 in the Euclidean plane \(E_ 2\). For a given centrally symmetric convex hexagon \(S\) in \(E_ 2\) let \(s\) be the class of all affine images \(S'\) of \(S\) with centre 0 and \(S'\subseteq K_ 1(0)\). The author solves the following problem: Determine the maximum radius \(r\) of circles \(K_ r(0)\) such that there exists an \(S_ 0\in s\) with \(K_ r(0)\subseteq S_ 0\). The result allows to calculate the Banach-Masur-distance between the space \(\ell^ 2_ 2\) and the space with unit sphere \(S\). The methods are elementary but originally.
