    Let \(Tf(x,t)=e^{2\pi i t\phi(D)}f(x)\) be the solution of the general dispersive equation with phase \(\phi\) and initial data \(f\) in the inhomogeneous Sobolev space \(H^s({\mathbb R}^n)\). In this paper, the authors prove the weighted \(L^2\) estimate \(\left\|T^{\ast \ast}f\right\|_{L^{2}(w dx)} \leq C\|f\|_{H^s}\), where the global maximal operator \(T^{\ast \ast}\) is defined by \(T^{\ast \ast}f(x) = \sup_{t \in {\mathbb R}}|Tf(x,t)|\). The exponent \(s\) depends on the phase function \(\phi\), whose gradient may vanish or have singularities.
