Inverse problems of distributed parameter systems with applications to optimal control and identification are considered. Numerical methods and the numerical analysis for this kind of inverse problems are presented. Error estimates with respect to the finite element approximation are given and applied to optimal control problems. Finally, a special two-grid method and related algorithms for solving nonlinear elliptic problems are introduced.
