Let \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n, T:= [t_0,\vartheta]\). Consider the parabolic system \(y_t = Ay + f(t,x), (t,x) \in T \times \Omega, y(t_0,x) = y_0(x), x \in \Omega, \sigma_1\partial y/\partial N + \sigma_2 y = g(x) u(t), t \in T, x \in \partial \Omega \). Here, \(A\) is an elliptic operator, \(\sigma_1\) and \(\sigma_2\) are nonnegative constants with \(\sigma_1 + \sigma_2 > 0\), \(g \in L^m_2(\Gamma)\), \(u(t) = (u_1(t),\ldots,u_m(t)) \in P \subset \mathbb{R}^m, t \in T.\) The authors consider the problem of determining \(u\) when \(y\) is approximately given. Since the problem is ill-posed, they propose to use standard Tikhonov regularization and TV-regularization to stabilize it. Some properties of these regularized problems are proved, gradient and subgradient methods for them are investigated and numerical experiments are documented.
