The authors expand their work [``Admissibility of control and observation operators for semigroups: a survey'', in: J. A. Ball (ed.) et al., Current trends in operator theory and its applications. Proceedings of the international workshop on operator theory and its applications (IWOTA), Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, August 6--9, 2002. Basel: Birkhäuser. Operator Theory: Advances and Applications 149, 199--221 (2004; Zbl 1083.93025)] that deals with admissible control and observation operators for semigroups. In the current paper, the theory of composition operators on Hardy spaces is used to discuss the aforementioned admissible operators for linear Volterra systems. The authors find that the admissibility of such observation operators is comparable to the classical Cauchy system related to \(a(t) = 1,\) where \[ \begin{cases} x(t) = x_0 + \int_0^t a(t-s)Ax(s) \,ds, & t \geq 0, \\ y(t) = Cx(t). \end{cases} \tag{ASDS} \] Finally, known results for the Cauchy problem are extended by considering a duality between the admissible control and observation operators.
