The study focuses on a system of \(n\) one-dimensional parabolic equations when the control is exerted on a part of the boundary by means of \(m\) controls. First, the authors give a rather detailed analysis of known results related to controllability of dynamical systems. Then, for the considered system, they formulate and prove necessary and sufficient conditions of exact controllability in the Kalman form. For substantiation of sufficiency the authors use the method of proving through a moment problem. In turn, for proving the necessity, they use construction and estimates of a biorthogonal family in \(L^2\) space. In the conclusive part, some open problems are discussed.
