A subset B of a Polish space X is called Bernstein set if B and \(X\setminus B\) meet every uncountable closed subset of X. The author proves, for instance, that every uncountable Polish space contains \(2^ c\) Bernstein sets. Results on topological groups and continuous functions are also proved.
