Let \(h: Y'\to Y\) be a proper birational morphism of smooth varieties, \(X\) a subvariety of \(Y\) of dimension greater than one and \(X'\) the strict transform of \(X\). For an arc \(\psi'\) on \(Y'\), let \(\psi\) be its image in the arc space of \(Y\). This paper shows the comparison formula between the contact order of \(\psi'\) with respect to \(X'\) (this is denoted by \(d_{X'}(\psi)\)) and the contact order of \(\psi\) with respect to \(X\) (this is denoted by \(d_X(\psi)\)) in the following cases: (1) \(h\) is an embedded resolution for \(X\) in \(Y\), such that \(h\) is a composite of blow-ups of points on the strict transform of \(X\) and each center lies on at most one exceptional component; (2) a slightly different setting from (1) for a surface \(X\), such that it contains a toric surface case. As corollaries in each cases, the author obtains the formula of the geometric Poincaré series. The author also proves that if the base field is algebraically closed, the geometric Poincaré series and the arithmetic Poincaré series coincide.
