The paper is mainly concerned with the derivation of a priori error estimates for an upwind-mixed method for transport equations. It is shown that this estimate still holds in the same form when the velocity is approximated appropriately, although with a much larger constant. Further extensions are higher-order approximating space, the possibility of zero diffusion, and different boundary conditions. The numerical experiments actually show the convergence order to be better than the error estimate.
