A \(g\)-monoid is a submonoid \(S\) of a torsion free Abelian (additive) group. For \(S\), most of the definitions appearing in commutative ring theory can be adapted. The author conjectures that, under this adaptation, almost all propositions in multiplicative ideal theory hold for \(g\)-monoids. To confirm it, he practically reproduces (proving the results) Chapter 3 of the book ``Commutative Rings'' by \textit{I. Kaplansky} (1974; Zbl 0296.13001), considering a \(g\)-monoid \(S\) instead of a commutative ring \(R\).
