By introducing the notions of normed almost linear space (nals) and strong normed almost linear space (snals) - which are generalizations of the notion of normed linear space (nls), it is shown that these spaces constitute the natural framework for the theory of best simultaneous approximation in an nls. In the framework of an nals (snals), some results of the type (i) general results from the theory of normed linear spaces; (ii) results from the theory of best approximation in an nls, (iii) results from the theory of best simultaneous approximation in an nls; are extended. Along with some other results, it is shown that (a) the theory of best simultaneous approximation in an nls is a particular case of the theory of best approximation in an nals by elements of subsets \(G\subset V_ X=\{x\in X: x-x=0\}\), X being an almost linear space. (b) the dual of an nals is an nals.
