This article generalize results (during the period of mid-60s to mid-70s) due to I. J. Maddox on so-called generalized Cesàro summable sequences. For brevity, we write \(C:= [C_ \alpha;(m_ \nu)]^{(p)}\), where \(m= (m_ \nu)\) is a strictly increasing sequence of natural numbers and \(p= (p_ k)\) is a strictly positive sequence. The generalized sets of Cesàro summable sequence \(C_ 0\), \(C\) and \(C_ \infty\) as well as a metric \(g\) defined on these spaces are given by I. J. Maddox. We assume that \(m\) satisfies the condition \(m_ \nu+ 1/m_ \nu< K\) for some constant \(K\) and for all \(\nu\). The main results are (1) If \(p\) is a bounded sequence and \(\varlimsup(m_ \nu+ 1/m_ \nu)> 1\), then the space \(C\) is a complete metric space with respect to \(g\). (2) We let \(C(e)\) be the space \(C\) with \(p\) replaced by \(e\). The author has given a characterization for the inclusion relation \(C_ 0\subset C(e)_ 0\).
