The authors study a homogeneous strongly elliptic thermoelastic medium with microtemperatures from the point of view of the existence of plane harmonic waves. They prove that wave propagation lacks both dispersion and attenuation: this follows from the entropy balance and ellipticity. For the isotropic case, the possible waves are undamped in time and there exist three longitudinal and two transverse waves. All transverse waves have constant temperature. Special cases of zero parts of main equations are studied.
