Let \(k\geq2\) be an integer. A Hilbert space operator \(A\) is said to be a \(k\)-generalized projector if \(A^k=A^*\). The authors show that any two homotopic (in a sense explained in the paper) \(k\)-generalized projectors are path connected but there does not exist a segment in the set of all \(k\)-generalized projectors joining two different \(k\)-generalized projectors.
