The authors prove the existence and continuity of solutions to obstacle problems \[ -\operatorname{div}A(x,\nabla u)+B(x,u)=0 \] with \(p(x)\)-type nonstandard growth, and establish the conditions of removability of closed sets for Hölder continuous solutions of the elliptic equations in the framework of variable exponent Sobolev spaces.
