The qualitative behavior of large solutions of elliptic and parabolic equations has been investigated by many authors starting from the papers by \textit{J. B. Keller} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 10, 503--510 (1957; Zbl 0090.31801)] and \textit{R. Osserman} [Pac. J. Math. 7, 1641--1647 (1957; Zbl 0083.09402)]. In this deep article the authors give a proof of the Keller-Osserman a priori estimates for solutions to anisotropic elliptic and parabolic equations with absorption. Using these estimates they give a simple and elegant proof of the Harnack inequality for solutions of \(p\)-Laplace and evolution \(p\)-Laplace equations with absorption term.
