Recently, a class of parametrized inexact Uzawa methods for large sparse saddle point problems was studied by \textit{Z.-Z. Bai} and \textit{Z.-Q. Wang} [Linear Algebra Appl. 428, No.~11--12, 2900--2932 (2008; Zbl 1144.65020)]. In the paper under review, generalizations of these methods are presented and a class of generalized inexact parametrized iterative schemes for solving the saddle point problems is proposed. Conditions for guaranteeing the convergence of the iterative methods are derived. With different choices of parameter matrices, the generalized iterative methods lead to a series of existing and new iterative methods.
