The semi-infinite Bernoulli-Euler beams on elastic Winkler foundation are treated analytically by assuming a time-harmonic behavior. The asymptotic part of the solution, containing non-integer powers of complex excitation frequency, is interpreted as fractional derivatives of the unknown interface variable in time-domain. This leads to differential equations containing fractional (non-integer) derivatives. These equations are solved by Yuan-Agrawal procedure. The central point of the procedure is a reduction of fractional-order differential equation to a system of first-order equations.
