Among mean values with weight function \[ M(x)=g^{-1} \Biggl(\sum_{k=1}^{n} g(x_{k})f(x_{k})\left / \sum_{k=1}^{n}f(x_{k})\right. \Biggr), \] where \(x=(x_{1},\dots{},x_{n})\in I^{n}\) and \(I\) is an interval of real numbers, all those homogeneous of degree 1 have been determined by \textit{Z. Daróczy} and the reviewer [Publ. Math. 10, 171-190 (1964; Zbl 0147.31203)]; they belong to one of three explicitly given classes. \textit{M. Dresher} [Duke Math. J. 20, 261-271 (1953; Zbl 0050.28202)] and the author [Arch. Math. 22, 168-174 (1971; Zbl 0226.26023)] found necessary and sufficient conditions for the means of \textit{C. Gini} [Metron 13, No. 2, 3-22 (1938; Zbl 0018.41404)], a subclass of one of those classes, to satisfy the Minkowski inequality \(M(x+y)\leq M(x)+M(y)\). In the present paper the author offers conditions for the rest of mean values in that class and for those in the remaining classes to satisfy this inequality on different intervals. The conditions and some proofs are not simple.
