A semigroup \((S,\leq)\) is naturally ordered if the relation \(\leq\) extends the natural order on the subset \(E(S)\) of idempotents of \(S\). Here are investigated properties of naturally ordered semigroups which have an inverse monoid transversal; the structure of regular semigroups of this type is described.
