A study of the propagation of an electromagnetic wave into an unbounded domain occupied by a nonlinear dielectric substance is presented. Implications of the Rankine-Hugoniot and Lax K-shock conditions are also developed. Computational aspects of \(t_{\max}\) and \(S_{\max}\) are finally discussed at the end which will be useful to the researchers community working on this area.
