This work continues a series of papers written by the authors on the Hopfield model of statistical mechanics of disordered spin systems [see e.g. the authors and \textit{P. Picco}, Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 101, No. 4, 511-546 (1995; Zbl 0826.60090)]. In the present paper the case when the number \(M\) of random ``patterns'', as a function of the system size \(N\), satisfies condition \(\limsup_{N\to\infty} M(N)N^{-1}=0\), is considered. The large deviations principle for the finite-dimensional marginals of the Gibbs distribution of the overlap parameters is proved.
