There are some first steps towards a Yang-Mills theory with an infinite number of symmetries. The authors discuss a gauge field which lies in an affine Kac-Moody algebra rather than in a finite Lie algebra. A postulated Lagrangian turns out to be the Lagrangian of Faddeev-Popov corresponding to the associated loop group. The Feynman rules of the simple Yang-Mills field are slightly modified expressing the conservation rules for the infinite number of symmetries.
