Let \(M\subset {\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\) be a hypersurface which is locally equivalent to the hyperquadric \(x_ 0=\sum^{k}_{j=1}x_ j^ 3- \sum^{n}_{j=k+1}x_ j^ 2,\) \(n\leq 2k\). These hypersurfaces are classified for \(k=n-2\) up to affine transformations of \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\). There are only finitely many affine classes if \(n\leq 6\), while for \(n\geq 7\) there exists a family of classes depending on a continuous parameter. The results are formulated in terms of the associated tube hypersurfaces \(M+i{\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\subset {\mathbb{C}}^{n+1}.\) [For \(k=n\) see \textit{J. Dadok} and \textit{P. Yang}, Am. J. Math. 107, 999-1013 (1985; Zbl 0586.32035), for \(k=n-1\) see the author and \textit{M. A. Mishchenko}, Math. USSR, Izv. 33, No.3, 441-472 (1989); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk. SSSR, Ser. Mat. 52, No.6, 1123-1153 (1988; Zbl 0677.32003)].
