The main concern of this paper is to obtain some in extensions of a BGK model to gas mixtures since in applications one often has to deal with mixtures instead of a single gas. I think the authors had to give an explanation for this abbreviation: BGK: Bhatnagar, Gross and Krook The authors present the BGK model for two species of mixtures and the model of \textit{P. Andries} et al. [J. Stat. Phys. 106, No. 5--6, 993--1018 (2002; Zbl 1001.82093)]. Then they get bounds on the macroscopic quantities which are needed in order to show existence and uniqueness of non-negative solutions. It is important to outline that all classical solutions with positive initial data remain positive for all later times. Finaly, the above models are used in order to determine an unknown function in the macroscopic equations for so-called gas mixtures of \textit{S. Dellacherie} [M2AN, Math. Model. Numer. Anal. 37, No. 6, 909--936 (2003; Zbl 1070.76037)].
