    Irreducible unitary representations of compact (finite) groups describe quantum state transformations (quantum coding) and quantum measurements (quantum decoding). Teleportation and dense coding in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space are formulated in terms of an irreducible unitary representation of a compact group. The description based on group representations makes more transparent similarity and difference between the quantum teleportation and the quantum dense coding.
