A continuum \(Y\) is a nonempty compact and connected metric space, and a dendrite is a locally connected continuum that contains no simple closed curve. By \(C_n(Y)\) one means the hyperspace of nonempty closed subsets of \(Y\) having at most \(n\) components. This hyperspace is endowed with the topology induced by the Hausdorff metric. The main theorem of this paper is: Theorem 13. Let \(X\) be a dendrite whose set of end points if closed. Then for each dendrite \(Y\), \(C_2(X)\) homeomorphic to \(C_2(Y)\) implies that \(X\) is homeomorphic to \(Y\). This result for \(C_n\) in place of \(C_2\) for \(n\neq 2\), was proved in [\textit{D. Herrera-Carrasco}, Houston J. Math. 33, No.~3, 795--805 (2007; Zbl 1147.54005)] and [\textit{D. Herrera-Carrasco} and \textit{F. Macías-Romero}, Topol. Proc. 32, 321--337 (2008; Zbl 1163.54005)].
