Let \(X_k\) be a proper irreducible scheme over a field \(k\) which satisfies Serre's \(S_2\) condition. For a noetherian scheme \(T\) over \(k\) let \(X_T=X_k \times _{\text{Spec}\, k}T\) and \(\Phi (T)\) be the collection of all closed subsets \(Z\subset X_T\) such that every point \(z\in Z\) has codimension \(\geq 3\) in its fiber over \(T\). Fix a reductive group \(G\) over \(k\). Let \(F_G(T)\) be a groupoid category with the objects \((E,U)\) where \(E\) is principal \(G\)-bundle defined over an open subscheme \(U\subset X_T\) such that the closed complement of \(U\) is a subset in \(\Phi(T)\). It is proven that \(F_G\) is an algebraic stack in the sense of Artin. The partial compactification of the stack of \(G\)-bundles on \(X_k\) is obtained. In the most part of the paper the work is done for the case \(G=GL(r)\). Also author extends the proof for general \(G\).
