An order level inventory model is developed for deteriorating items which is continuous in units and allows discrete replenishment opportunities. The model is developed under a variable demand which is instantaneous at the beginning of each time unit and a variable rate of deterioration which is a constant fraction of the on hand inventory at the beginning of each time unit. Shortages are allowed and there is no lead time. Particular cases of the general model are considered and an example is also given.
