The method of separating the singularity is applied to study the convergence of a difference scheme for a singular perturbation problem for a semilinear ordinary differential equation with mixed boundary value condition. The uniform convergence, with respect to the small parameter \(\varepsilon\) of order one for an Il'in type difference scheme is proved. At the end of the paper, a numerical example is given. The computing results agree with the theoretical analysis.
