In this paper a cubic model is constructed for a germ of a real subvariety in a complex space. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: A cubic of type \((n, K)\) for \(n^2 < K \leq n^2(n + 2)\) is a good model surface, i.e., 1) the graded Levi-Tanaka algebra of the cubic is of the form \(D_1\subset D_2\subset D_3\); 2) the cubic is an algebraic surface defined by equations of degrees 2 and 3; any surface of this type defined by equations of smaller degree has a finite-dimensional group; 3) holomorphic equivalence of cubics coincides with their linear equivalence; 4) the dimension of the group of a germ does not exceed the dimension of the group of its tangent cubic (extremality); 5) the cubic is homogeneous, i.e., its holomorphic automorphisms act transitively on it; in fact, homogeneity is ensured by quadratic-triangular transformations (homogeneity); 6) the group of the tangent cubic is finite-dimensional if and only if the cubic is nondegenerate, and the nondegeneracy condition (i.e., that the coordinate forms be linearly independent) is a condition of general position (finite-dimensionality); 7) the Lie algebra of holomorphic vector fields on the nondegenerate cubic is a certain subalgebra in the algebra of polynomial vector fields of bounded degree; the degrees of the coefficients do not exceed 5 (polynomiality of the algebra); 8) the automorphism group of the nondegenerate cubic is a subgroup of the group of birational transformations of \(\mathbb C^{n+K}\) whose degrees (of numerators and denominators in their reduced representations) do not exceed \(15(n + K)\) (rationality of the group).
