The authors introduce the definition of a weak block diagonally dominant matrix and a weak block H-matrix which permit block triangular factorizations and extend the theory to the block diagonally dominant matrices and the block \(H\)-matrices. Using the theory of weak block \(H\)-matrices, it is proved that any partitioned block of a point-wise \(H\)-matrix has a block triangular factorization.
